SLO GE Free seeks retraction from Health Commission

SLO GE Free is an all-volunteer organization of concerned local citizens.

Dear Health Commission Members,

At the end of the presentation by Mark Phillips and myself on August 14th, the chair of the health commission made the statement:

"I think that it is important to note that SLO GE Free is a paid lobbying organization."

Since Measure Q, SLO GE Free has received no funding. In fact, Mark Phillips, myself, and other members have spent hundreds of dollars of our personal funds for printing, duplication, and other costs. Finally, SLO GE Free no longer even has a bank account.

SLO GE Free attempted to respond when the comment was made, but was refused by the chair.

This misleading and inaccurate statement by the chair of the Health Commission has the potential to degrade the integrity of the Health Commission as a whole.

I ask that the Health Commission issue an apology and retraction to the members of SLO GE Free who donate time and materials for a cause they believe. I would also request that the Health Commission ask it's members to clearly state when their comments are "as an individual" versus representing the Commission.

Thank you,

Mike Zelina
